Professional career
Dr Nedvetskaya’s teaching, research interests and professional experience are closely linked to mega sport events and the issues of governance, impacts and legacies. Her PhD thesis was on the London 2012 Games Maker Programme as a catalyst for positive social transformations that shape the host city and create multiple and impactful legacies. She previously worked at 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and London 2012 Summer Olympics, which gave her invaluable practical insights into the world of mega sport events. Dr Nedvetskaya is an author and co-author of various published works and public speeches on sport event management. She is currently an ad hoc reviewer for Event Management Journal (Cognizant Communication Corporation) and Cogent Social Sciences Journal (part of Taylor & Francis, Routledge).
