An article about the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) has appeared in International Sports Studies, one of the world’s most established scholarly sports journals. The article was authored by Rosa Lopez de D'Amico, President of the International Society for Comparative Physical Education and Sport, which publishes the journal.
Dr. Lopez de D'Amico shared her positive impressions from her visit to RIOU in November 2024. As a visiting professor, she delivered a series of lectures and workshops for the international Master of Sport Administration class discussing various aspects of a research project, from development and methodology to the challenges of practical implementation.

• As an honorary life member of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW), Rosa fights for equal opportunities for women and girls in sport;
• Founding President of the Latin America Sport Management Association (ALGEDE) and Treasurer of the World Association for Sport Management (WASM);
• Professor at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Venezuela;
• Rosa’s research focuses on the cultural and social aspects pf sport, with a particular emphasis on gender issues and social justice;
• Rosa’s works have received international recognition, promoting accessibility and fairness in sport.
Dr. Lopez de D'Amico also donated a valuable publication on women's sport to the RIOU library. New Femininities in Digital, Physical and Sporting Cultures reveals the social and cultural aspects of women's sport, football in particular, in Latin America. The book shows how women overcome cultural barriers, master ‘male’ sports and fight for equality.
