RIOU students on the international Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course have finished their mission at the World Youth Festival (WYF).
Launched on March 1, 2024, the WYF brought together 20,000 young leaders in the fields of education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering and charity, sports, business, media, etc., including 10,000 international participants. Among them were 18 RIOU students who represented 10 different countries. Three students were involved in an important volunteer mission, working at the WYF press center and providing protocol support of the events.
As the MSA students were staying close to the festival venues, they could choose from a variety of activities on the extensive business and cultural programme. In particular, on March 3 they were able to attend the official inauguration of a library at the Sirius University. Any festival participant could donate books to the library to represent literature from different countries, the Russian classics in English and other languages, scientific journals, and encyclopedias. RIOU students contributed a number of books published by the university’s publishing house focusing on topics such as Olympism, sports management and volunteer movement in sports.
Participation in the World Youth Festival is part of the MSA students’ practical training in Sports Organisation and Event Management.
