Sochi Olympic Legacy
“RIOU’s research activities are focused on the study and preservation of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games legacy. That is why it was important for us to start the work in this field at the Games preparation stage. We immersed ourselves in the collection, systematisation and analysis of the materials for this book. As a result it presents a picture of the infrastructural, economic and social changes which were driven by the Games staging”, said RIOU Rector, Professor Lev Belousov.
This unique book is a popular-science publication which details the build-up of the physical and humanitarian legacy of the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Those who were directly involved with this unprecedented project in modern Russia talk about the massive transformations to the city of Sochi. The book consists of five main chapters: 1. Olympic Capital; 2. Sport in Post-Games Time; 3. World Class Resort; 4. City of the XXI Century; 5. Nature For Future Generations. The supplement to the book contains a short introduction to the history of Sochi.
