Детальное описание
Description text

The legendary memoirs of Pierre de Coubertin, which have been published in Russian for the first time, depict a man able to inspire the world with his vision of Olympism, and who is rightly considered to be the founder of the modern Olympic Movement. Baron de Coubertin had great energy and organisational skills: today we would describe him as an outstanding sports manager. He overcame the obstinacy of those who doubted his ideas, as great athletes overcome the barriers to success. The pinnacle of Pierre de Coubertin's achievements was the 1896 Athens Olympic Games, the renaissance of the Olympic Games. The book contains a selection of rare and fascinating photographs that transport the reader back in time to the birth of the modern Olympic Movement.
