Barannikov Alexander

Born on 20th September 1970.

Graduated from the Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics with the specialization in «finance and credit»; Moscow State Institute of Economics, Politics and Law with the specialization in «jurisprudence».

1988-1990 – military service in the Soviet Army. Then he was a top manager in different commercial organizations. He took part in the creation of the Moscow radio station "Silver Rain".

In December 1999 he was elected Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of 3rd convocation (deputy mandate from January 2000 to December 2003). He is the author of numerous laws in draft in the sphere of civil and criminal law. He was a proactive participant of the preparation and approval by the State Duma of presidential laws in draft on first stage of the liberalization of Russian criminal-executive system.

From 2004 – Assistant Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhukov.

From 2009 – Deputy Head of Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhukov.

Chairman of the Expert Commission of the Supervisory Board of the Organising Committee «Sochi 2014».

From August 2010 – member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee.

Mr. Barannikov has a rank of Active State Counselor of the Russian Federation, 2nd class.

Awarded with the Order of Honor, medal «Defender of free Russia», letter of commendation and appreciation from the Government of the Russian Federation.
